New York, Dec 3 (EFE).- The Spain-US Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday night awarded the president of Spanish multinational telecommunications company Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, with the Business Leader of the Year prize in New York.In his award acceptance speech, the president of the Spanish telecommunications giant took the occasion to highlight the importance of the human-centric digital economy.The gala was held at the Plaza Hotel in New York and attended by about 300 business leaders from global leading companies and financial entities, including Carlos Torres, president of Madrid-based financial services company BBVA; Carlos López-Abadía, CEO of customer relationship management firm Atento and Juan Ramon Alaix, CEO of Zoetis, the world's largest producer of medicine and vaccinations for pets and livestock.
