Samsung are developing virtual reality software to help diagnose patients with mental health issues.
Amazon Prime Day 2017 is kicking off with an absolutely stellar discount on the Samsung Galaxy S8, one of the best smartphones out there. If you have commitment issues with carriers, now is the time to snag the unlocked version of the phone, which costs just $665 - that’s about 26% off of its original price of $899. Samsung currently offers the S8 through its own website on sale at $724, though it’s obviously not as tempting as Amazon’s deal. Before you ask, the Amazon Prime Day 2017 deals extend to the larger Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
YouTubers live or die based on the interests of their audiences. The shift toward VR could potentially impact them even further. Relating that part of the problem with VR is technical, Youtuber Drift0r said, “My VR video underperformed. It was incredibly hard to film because it’s not forward-facing. It captures the entire room, everybody’s shoes, lights everything.” Drift0r says that phones are really the future when it comes to VR. “Mobile phones now have roughly the same power as an Xbox 360. Imagine two or three years from now, phones will only be faster with more resources toward gaming. There will be impressive mobile games, VR mobile games.”
Attention, Samsung computer owners: the company would like to strongly urge you to avoid upgrading to Windows 10. It’s not because of Microsoft’s upgrade tactics, it’s because Samsung is horrible at updating drivers. Nearly two years after the first builds were made widely available, Samsung is still telling customers the drivers on its website are not compatible with the latest Windows version. It’s not as though Microsoft has been quiet about the impending arrival of Windows 10.
