Lawmakers make their final arguments as they vote on whether to impeach Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff. The opposition needs at least 342 votes from the 513 congressmen to force Rousseff into an impeachment trial in the Senate. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
The House of Representatives impeached President Donald Trump on Wednesday. Having been previously impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress related to the Ukraine scandal, he's the first president to be impeached twice. Trump was impeached for 'incitement of insurrection' over his role in triggering the violent siege of the US Capitol on January 6. Five people died in the riot. According to Business Insider, ten Republican lawmakers broke ranks to vote with their Democratic colleagues to impeach the president. The final vote was 232 in favor of impeachment and 197 against.

With a narrow majority the Brazilian senate voted Thursday in favor of an impeachment trial for president Dilma Rousseff. This extraordinary measure was already taken in 1992 and will suspend Dilma for the following 180 days.
Several Democratic members of Congress are calling to impeach President Donald Trump again. Business Insider reports this coming just two weeks before he leaves office. They are calling for him to be impeached by the House and removed from office by the Senate. Many have stated allowing him to remain in office is a danger to democracy. "It's a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath," Rep. Ilhan Omar wrote. What happens following the coup lead by Trump's supporters on the Capitol remains unknown.
