Are you looking for a table tennis partner? Well this next level robotic human assistant may bring out the best in your game by practicing with you tirelessly for hours. Visitors of Japan's 2016 Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies, or CEATEC, got a chance to work on their own serves with Omron's latest ping-pong robot. Omron's robot is able to predict the ball's path and return it consistently, but the ping pong robot is actually being designed and modified for factory work instead of becoming the next ping-pong legend. The company is preparing their robot to assist humans at factory assembly lines, to help pick and place different parts together for assembly. CEATEC is Japan's largest IT and electronics trade show, and many manufacturers and innovators show off their latest products at the tech show.

The next generation of wacky gadgets set to hit the shelves got unveiled at 2018 Consumer Electronics Show. A clothes folding machine, a 3D avatar photo booth and Kuri the home robot were just some of the cool new tech trends that were showcased this year at the annual exhibition. Innovations in consumer electronics, robotics, drones, 3D printing, mobility, and wearables get unveiled to the world at the CES show, which acts as a sort of testing ground for new ideas.
Robots were the talk of the town at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show Asia, which is currently taking place in Shanghai. Although some of the robots were nothing more than little entertainment gadgets, it's becoming clear that robots will form an integral part of our future. A range of personal robots, including remote controlled bots with sensors and video cameras and personal assistant robots crawled and wheeled their way into people's hearts, but businesses are also preparing to get into the new trend with slew of robotic workers.

Visitors to the Tokyo Robot Center Showroom on Tokyo's Odaiba Island watched as a DuAro dual-armed SCARA robot made traditional Japanese nigiri sushi as part of a project launched by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The robot gracefully placed the fish toppings on little balls of rice while explaining every movement with audio and text appearing on the robot's 'face', which consisted of a mouth, nose, and big black eyes animated on a screen in between the two arms. The chef-bot was featured at the newly opened 'Kawasaki Robostage', a location open to the public designed to demonstrate the future of coexistence between humans and robots. It's part of a larger initiative from the Japanese government called 'Robot Strategy', which aims to introduce more widespread robot usage at every level of society. Robot Strategy has a dual purpose - to help manage the effects of a rapidly aging society by filling in for jobs usually handled by young people and to make Japan a global center for robotics innovation in order to serve the demands of the global economy of the future.
