Fans of Motörhead's Lemmy Want Element Named After Him

Following the news that four new elements were added to the periodic table, A petition has been launched to name one of four new elements added to the periodic table after the late rock legend Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister. Change.org user John White launched the petition to name the element "Lemmium" after the Motorhead frontman. He aims to modify the element's temporary name Ununoctium 118. With over 21,000 signatures, White, is hoping that the petition will meet the naming requirements given by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry . Lemmy died aged 70 on Dec. 28, two days after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
