La Bonne Biere, one of the six cafes stormed by gunmen in the tragic Paris attacks of last November, has reopened to the enthusiasm of Parisians and visitors. Customers defy fear and terror from the iconic terrace.
According to two separate sources who spoke to FRANCE 24’s Antoine Mariotti, 10 days before the attack in Paris last week, an intelligence report obtained by Paris police indicated six possible terrorists in the country, but the information was never passed on to the DGSI, the French intelligence agency. The note also included that a Syrian national was trafficking in fake Syrian passports.
An icon of the gatherings for the Charlie Hebdo attacks last January, la Place de la Republique has seen thousands of Parisians gather Sunday to lay candles, flowers and messages of solidarity.
So far at least 149 people have been killed in shootings and bombings at a number of locations in Paris on Friday night. One explosion was near a sports stadium where Germany and France were playing a soccer match that French president François Hollande was watching.
