Latest James Bond Movie Earns $500 Million Worldwide

The latest James Bond film, “SPECTRE”, earned over $34 million this weekend at the U.S. box office and $150 million overseas. Daniel Craig’s movie numbers pushed its three-week total to $130 million at the U.S. box office and $413 million internationally, In total the movie eclipsed $500 million at the global box office in less than a month. Charlie Brown’s The Peanuts Movie earned Second place for the second weekend in a row with a $24 million haul bringing its domestic total to over $80 million. It's likely that by this time next week, it will have earned back its $99 million production budget even before international receipts start to be counted.

    James Bond's guns and gadgets are almost as famous as the character himself. Now one of the two original props used by Sean Connery as Bond will go on the auction block. The 007 original will be in the upcoming "Icons & Idols Trilogy: Hollywood" sale, hosted by Julien's Auctions. According to CNN, the auction will be held on December 3 in Beverly Hills and online. The handgun is expected to bring in up to $200,000, according to the auction house. Sean Connery, famed for playing James Bond, died on October 31 at the age of 90.

According to Business Insider the company was ravaged as the coronavirus pandemic continues to wreak havoc on movie releases. Chris Nolan's "Tenet" fueled the reopening of hundreds of theaters around the US. However, studios postponed the release of several blockbusters, like the latest James Bond film "No Time To Die" Regal began reopening theaters in August. It may shutter its more than 500 locations around the country amid low turnout. Regal's plan aren't set in stone. Sources familiar with the matter said a final decision could arrive Monday or Tuesday.
