Trump dominates GOP field heading into 2016

Description

Donald Trump seems set to end 2015 as the dominant force in the race for next year's Republican nomination for president, with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz now a clear - yet distant - second after a strong debate performance, a new CNN/ORC poll released on Wednesday has found. Trump has been a constant atop the polls since his ascent to the lead in July, and this new poll marks the first time Cruz stands significantly apart from the other candidates vying for the nomination. A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday found a tighter race between Trump and Cruz, a finding that clashes with most other recent polling on the national race. Trump's standing in the race for the nomination is bolstered by widely held trust that he can best handle the top issues facing the nation. And Republicans are coming around to the idea that the Republican Party has its best shot at winning the presidency by nominating the New York real estate mogul.

  • John Bolton Is Fed Up With GOP Leaders Propping Up Trump's 'Baseless' Claim Of Voter Fraud

Former White House advisor John Bolton has had it with President Donald Trump's refusal to concede to President-elect Joe Biden. Business Insider reports Bolton asked GOP leaders to go against Trump's assertion that the winner of the 2020 election has not yet been decided. Sunday, Bolton said in an ABC interview that Republican leaders should tell voters 'Trump has lost the election and that his claims of election fraud are baseless.' Substantial evidence indicates that voter fraud has not occurred in this election, including a report from a group of international election observers. Trump's team of lawyers has litigated election results in all key battleground states. However, they have been unsuccessful in virtually every attempt. Right now, the Trump campaign is doing the legal equivalent of pitching pennies. Where are their silver dollars? Where is the evidence? As President Donald Trump crosses the country in a last-minute frenzy of campaign stumping, he's given short shrift to down-ballot Republican senators. Speaking in Arizona on Wednesday, CNN reports Trump offered a mortifyingly dismissive introduction to the state's vulnerable GOP senator, Martha McSally. Martha, just come up fast. Fast. Fast. Come on. Quick. You got one minute! One minute, Martha! They don't want to hear this, Martha. Come on. Let's go. Quick, quick, quick. Come on. Let's go. US President Donald J. Trump Polls have shown McSally facing a tough reelection battle against her Democratic challenger, former astronaut Mark Kelly. And as they have in other tighter-than-expected Senate races, Trump's divisive behavior has been blamed for dragging down McSally's prospects. While she is still courting Trump supporters, she refused to say whether she was proud of the president during a recent Senate debate with Kelly.
