Motorhead Frontman 'Lemmy' Dies

Description

the heavy metal band Motorhead said on its Facebook page that frontman Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister has died at age 70. Kilmister was recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. Growling, whiskey-drinking, mutton-chops wearing Lemmy was famous for always turning his amplifiers up to the maximum and for positioning his microphone above his head so that he had to sing looking upward. He was known for his anthems to hellraising such as Motorhead's classic "Ace of Spades." Lemmy lived in Los Angeles where he raised controversy over his collection of Nazi memorabilia. He played in Hawkwind before forming Motorhead in the mid 1970s.
