Former OPEC president Diezani Alison-Madueke leaves a London court after appearing over bribery charges relating to her time as Nigeria's oil minister. The UK's National Crime Agency says Alison-Madueke allegedly benefitted from at least £100,000 in cash, chauffeur-driven cars, flights and luxury holidays accepted as rewards "for awarding multi-million pound contracts". The 63-year-old was arrested in October 2015, shortly after which her family's lawyer said she would strongly contest the allegations. IMAGES

Detained US journalist Evan Gershkovich appears in a Moscow courtroom ahead of an appeal of his extended detention in Russia on spying claims. The court rejected the appeal.
