A Russian pensioner named Gennadii Valyaev drove his SsangYong Actyon SUV off the streets of Saint Petersburg and down into one of the city’s metro entrances on Wednesday, apparently just to "see if it would fit." A smiling Valyaev cranked up his music to make the most of the acoustics in the underpass while commuters snapped photos of the ridiculous situation. Emergency workers have removed the offending vehicle and the Petersburg Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation.
A young man was captured enjoying sipping what appears to be a bottle of beer while sitting on a moving car in the centre of the Russian city of Voronezh in November. The video went viral, provoking facepalms, heated debate, and condemnation from fellow city residents. Is this just a fun-loving stunt or stupid, reckless, and dangerous behavior?
A Russian man who left his car on a hill in Penza during a snow storm was forced to chase it down the street after it rolled away last Tuesday. It's no wonder that this monster hill is known by locals as the Bewitched Mountain. We weren't able to get footage of how the car came to a stop, but something tells us that's probably for the best.
An unnamed taxi driver transporting one passenger for Yandex.Taxi while lost control of his vehicle in Saint Petersburg on Friday and landed right in the Moika River. The car floated in the freezing waters for about 30 minutes and progressively sank deeper as the driver and passenger were screaming for help. Eyewitnesses immediately called authorities and an emergency boat arrived as the car was almost filled with cold water. The survivors were transferred to hospital and treated for hypothermia.
Russian drivers were caught unprepared by heavy snowfall in Vladivostok that started last Friday and transformed the city's streets into one big icy skating rink for motorists. Footage shows repeated attempts by motorists to scale a slippery slope, but, despite their best efforts, not a single driver was successful. In fact, most cars lost control and ended up sliding all way back down the hill, clipping parked cars and moving traffic on their way.
