  • Bomb Hits Evacuee Buses In Syria

    About 100 people were killed Saturday in a car bomb explosion targeting pro-regime evacuees in Syria. According to CNN, the blast outside of Rashidin, a suburb of Aleppo, struck buses of people who were leaving their towns as part of a rebel-regime swap. The evacuees, many from mainly pro-regime Shia villages, were bound for regime-held parts of Aleppo. They had been allowed to leave their villages as part of a Shia-Sunni exchange agreement between the Syrian government and insurgents who have been fighting a civil war for six years.

  • Car Bomb Kills Dozens In Northern Syria

    A car bomb has detonated in a northern Syrian city, killing dozens of people and wounding more. According to Turkish state media, the explosion occurred near the town of al-Bab. The town was recently liberated by the Turkish military from the Islamic State, which held captured al-Bab in 2013. It is also reportedly the last significant holdout for the militant group between Aleppo and Raqqa, the group's de fact capital. The suicide attack took place in the village of Sousian. According to reports, the blast killed about 60 people.
