And he specifically wants Democratic senators to recommend nominees to him who are diverse, not just in terms of race or gender, but professionally ― something progressives have been clamoring for for years. In a letter obtained by HuffPost, Biden’s incoming White House counsel Dana Remus tells Democratic senators to try to find public defenders and civil rights attorneys in their states who they think would be a good fit for a federal judgeship.
President-elect Joe Biden on Monday said that his transition team is facing ongoing roadblocks. The roadblocks come from President Trump's political leadership at the Pentagon. Several of the blocks also come from the Office of Management and Budget, says Business Insider. He has vowed to undo Trump's "America First" isolationist foreign policy and restore the United States' reputation on the world stage. Biden has pledged to rebuild international alliances and has said that global challenges, including the coronavirus pandemic and the climate crisis, require partnerships and international coordination.
Former Trump administration cybersecurity official Chris Krebs is considering taking legal action against Joe diGenova. Krebs drew President Donald Trump's wrath when he defied Trump's claims of voter fraud, saying the 2020 election 'was the most secure in American history.' DiGenova is a Trump campaign lawyer, who Trump recruited after seeing him on Fox News. In an interview on 'The Howie Carr Show' on Monday, diGenova pubicly called Krebs an 'idiot' and a 'class-A moron,' and called for his execution. ...He should be drawn and quartered. He's deployed a team of lawyers to fight election results in several states, insisting widespread voter fraud was at play and that the election was 'stolen' from him. Now, Business Insider reports the head of Trump's legal team has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. David Bossie tested positive on Sunday. Bossie is not a lawyer but is a frequent contributor to Fox News. Several others in Trump's inner circle have also recently caught COVID-19, including HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.
