Carrie Fisher was an icon, not just for her acting but for the way she lived her life. Fisher was born to show biz royalty, the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds. She jumped to super stardom when she played Princess Leia in the Star Wars series. Fisher battled bi-polar disorder and addiction since her teens. She was open about her addictions and struggles, often using her trademark wit, self deprecating humor, grit and resilience as a way to show people the struggles are all too human but surmountable. Fisher was 60 years old.
