The Weeknd will perform during the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show. The announcement was made on Thursday by Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi. "I'm humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year," The Weeknd said in a statement. According to CNN, The Weeknd will take the stage on Feb. 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. No word yet on if fans will be allowed in the stadium amid the growing pandemic. The game will air on CBS.
University of Alabama's head football Coach Nick Saban has tested positive for Covid-19. The university made the announcement on Wednesday. According to CNN, the school's athletic director Greg Byrne also tested positive. The university said that both men have left campus are in isolation in their homes. The news comes just three days before the Crimson Tide's conference showdown with visiting Georgia. Along with Saban, Florida State's Mike Norvell, Arizona's Kevin Sumlin, and Les Miles of Kansas have also tested positive for the coronavirus.
This leafy lapacho tree, which is growing through the stands of Paraguayan football stadium, has become an official member of Resistencia, a football club based in Asuncion. The club threw a ceremony in the stadium in order to officially honor the tree with its own club membership card and club shirt. The Lapacho, also know as a pink trumpet tree, grew in the stands behind one of the goals and Resistencia's club president decided it was time to honour the tree just as the club turns 100 years old.
