Colombo, Sep 6 (EFE/EPA).- The Sri Lankan health ministry continued vaccinating people who are in the 20-30 age group as the country struggles with a surge of Delta variant infections.The Sri Lankan government last week began the COVID-19 vaccination program for the age group of 20-30 years with the aim of vaccinating 3.7 million people before the end of October. According to health officials, Sri Lanka had completely vaccinated 8.6 million people, or 43.7 percent of the total population over the age group of 30 as of 6 September. The Sri Lankan government has extended a nationwide lockdown till 13 September 2021, as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19.
