The Toyota RAV4 is known for being reliable, spacious, practical, but also a little dull. Toyota has given it a refresh with a new look up front, some tweaked lights at the rear and a couple of updates to the engines and trim levels. You can get the RAV4 with a 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine, a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 2.5-litre V6 petrol mated to an electric motor - the RAV4 Hybrid. SsangYong is best known for its reasonably-priced large SUVs, but now the company is taking on the fashionable compact crossover with the new Tivoli. The Jeep Renegade is the American brand's smallest ever car, and its first proper foray into the crossover/small SUV segment. It's based on the Fiat 500X and comes with a range of petrol and diesel engines, with either front or four-wheel drive on certain models. It's unmistakably Jeep on the outside, plus it delivers on the company's heritage of being pretty useful when the road gets rough, too.
