'Superior Donuts' Star Says To Be A Black Lead On CBS Is 'Huge News'

'Superior Donuts' is a multi-cam comedy based on the Tracy Letts play of the same name. It stars stand-up comedian Jermaine Fowler opposite Judd Hirsch. But it wasn't cast that way originally. In fact, two pilots were shot. That's because the original actor played "too young," so he was replaced with Hirsch. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS often comes under fire for its lack of diversity. Fowler agrees, saying, " To be a black lead on a CBS network sitcom is huge news."
