Madonna Discusses Aging at Billboard Music Event

While at Billboard’s Women in Music event on Friday, singer Madonna referred to herself as “a doormat” and slammed misogyny in an acceptance speech for winning the Woman of the Year award. During her speech, Madonna said her award was more for her self-preservation in the music industry than anything else, adding, “Thank you for acknowledging my ability to continue my career for 34 years in the face of blatant sexism and misogyny and constant bullying and relentless abuse.
