Evan Rachel Wood Shares Important Message About Sexual Assault

Evan Rachel Wood recently wrote to Rolling Stone about her experiences with sexual assault. The Westworld star revealed that she had been raped by a former partner and another time by the owner of a bar. She writes, "I will not be ashamed. I will also not project some false idea of being completely over it because 'I am so strong.' I don't believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. I certainly can't. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism." Wood said the abuse contributed to her suicide attempt when she was 22-years-old. She thinks that survivors of assault should feel less pressure to move on from such incidents.
