Two paintings by world famous painter Vincent van Gogh have gone back on display at the museum dedicated to the Dutch master in Amsterdam on Tuesday, 14 years after they were stolen.

    On Tuesday, the Van Gogh Museum welcomed home two paintings by the Dutch master over 14 years after they were stolen from the museum in a nighttime heist. The paintings, "Seascape at Scheveningen" from 1882 and "Congregation leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen" painted between 1884 and 1885, were discovered last year Italian police investigating suspected mobsters for cocaine-trafficking. Museum director Axel Rueger called the return of the paintings one of the "most special days in the history of our museum." Rueger claims the paintings suffered remarkably little damage in the years since the 2002 heist.

    Associated Press has reported that the two paintings by Vincent van Gogh that were stolen in a smash-and-grab heist more than 14 years ago went back on display Tuesday at the Amsterdam museum dedicated to the Dutch master.
