  • Trump Falls Down Forbes' List of Billionaires

According to a new list released Tuesday, Donald Trump’s net worth fell by $400 million in 2017, causing him to fall 222 places on Forbes' annual list of the world’s billionaires. Forbes attributed Trump’s fall to the decrease in value of his real estate holdings in Manhattan and less-than-stellar income from his golf resorts. On the other hand, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos topped the list for the very first time, making him officially the richest person on the planet with a fortune of $112 billion.

According to Forbes, Donald Trump's fortune dropped by $600 million this year to an estimated net worth of $3.1 billion. Trump also dropped 92 spots — to No. 248, on Forbes' list of the wealthiest Americans. The magazine attributed the dip in Trump's wealth to "a weakening in New York City's retail and office real estate market." Forbes said in a statement this week that it investigated for months through financial disclosure forms and public property records to estimate the president's net worth, which he claims is over $10 billion.

  • Forbes' Wealthiest Americans List Drops Trump 92 Slots

According to Forbes Magazine, President Donald Trump's net worth fell $600 million over the past year, to $3.1 billion. This puts the President 92 spots lower on the list of America's wealthiest than he was in 2016. Forbes wrote that Trump was "the most notable loser" on its list of the 400 wealthiest Americans, attributing the drop to an expensive lawsuit, the costs of his presidential campaign, and a decline in the value of his Manhattan real estate. And even though Forbes' findings may not please the President's supporters, Bloomberg was far less generous in its estimation of the Real Estate Mogul's net worth, estimating his wealth at an even lower $2.86 billion for 2016.

  • Trump Drops On Forbes List

According to the Guardian President Trump's net worth is declining due to a drop in the value of office space in Midtown Manhattan. Forbes ranks Trump as the world’s 544th richest person, after coming in at No. 324 last year. He has famously refused to reveal his tax returns that would identify his actual net worth, but has claimed it’s “in excess” of $10 billion. Bill Gates now resides at the top of the list.

According to the Associated Press, telecom companies AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon recently stated that they won’t provide their customers’ location data to third-party data brokers. A New York Times report in May touched off a major scandal by describing the ways location data, which all four major carriers in the U.S. share with data brokers like LocationSmart, can be abused. This is a good step forward for these companies to make to help protect their customers data.
