  • BBC America Orders US Spinoff of 'Top Gear'

    According to a report, BBC America will introduce a program titled “Top Gear America,” later this year - a spinoff of the US version of the show featuring three new hosts. The program, which will consist of eight hour-long episodes, will be hosted by actor and competitive racer William Fichtner, world champion drag racer Antron Brown, and British automotive journalist Tom “Wookie” Ford. BBCA president Sarah Barnett said this week, "We couldn’t be happier that BBCA is now the home for the franchise in the US, with Top Gear America joining the original show on our network."

  • Matt LeBlanc To be the Sole Host UK Car Show "Top Gear"

    The BBC says former "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc has signed a two-series deal to host its popular car show "Top Gear." The broadcaster announced Monday that LeBlanc will front the program when it returns for a 24th series in 2017. Matt LeBlanc and The Stig of BBC America's 'Top Gear' (Rod Fountain/BBC Worldwide) LeBlanc was one of two hosts when "Top Gear" was relaunched in May after the loss of its longstanding team of presenters.

  • Matt LeBlanc Will Continue To Host Top Gear'

    Matt LeBlanc in 'Top Gear' Co-host Chris Evans left the rebooted show after just one season. The actor on Monday was confirmed by the BBC as the host of the 24th season of its flagship motoring show, set to air next year under a two-season deal. "Matt was hugely popular with Top Gear viewers last series with his humor, warmth and obvious passion for cars and for the show, so I couldn’t be more delighted that he’s agreed to come back and do more for us." said Mark Linsey, director of BBC Studios.
