Finally here is a fully functioning Aston Martin Valkyrie complete with V12 engine and hybrid drive train! The Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 engine developed by Cosworth and in conjunction with RedBull Racing - the engine alone develops 1000bhp making it the most powerful naturally aspirated engine ever to make it to a production road car...and that's before the 900nm of hybrid torque and the 11,100 RPM rev limit.
On the eve of the 60th anniversary of its glorious win in the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans, Aston Martin announces that it will once again bid for outright victory in the French endurance classic in 2021.Following the announcement of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s decision to introduce hypercars to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), Aston Martin will field a minimum of two works Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercars, specially-developed for the 2020/21 FIA WEC season, including the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans.Britain has enjoyed a long romance with the Circuit de la Sarthe, indeed in 2021 it will be 100 years since an Aston Martin first raced there. But it’s nearly a quarter of a century since a British-built derivative of a road car claimed top honours at Le Mans, and invoking the pioneering spirit of the company’s founder Lionel Martin and the ingenuity of some of Britain’s best engineering minds, Aston Martin is now set to carry that mantle into the next decade with a bold attempt to win Le Mans and the world championship.
British builder of exotic and luxurious sports cars, Aston Martin’s current model range includes six different vehicles, most with convertible ‘Volante’ versions. The V8 Vantage is the brand’s entry-level volume model and has just been redesigned for 2018. New additions include the DB-11 high-end sports car, Vanquish Zagato, and Valkyrie hypercar. On the horizon is a new venture for the luxury sports brand: a compact crossover called the DBX. Best known for being the ride of choice for James Bond, the name Aston Martin is derived from one of the automaker’s founder, Lionel Martin and the Aston Hill speed hillclimb. Founded in 1913, like many other high end automakers it’s had a tumultuous history until 1994 when Ford took over ownership and since then has thrived in the luxury car market.
Aston Martin showed off its new Vanquish Zagato Volante on Wednesday, as part of Monterey's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2017 car event. Only 99 units of the new model have been produced, and each comes with the astonishing price tag of $850,000. However, prospective buyers will have to curb their enthusiasm, since all of them have already been sold.
