Mixed feelings as Paris stores reopen

Description

In Les Halles, formerly one of Paris’s busiest shopping and transport interchanges, people are filtering onto the streets to spend time with friends and do shopping. Some stores are enforcing a one-on, one-out policy. FRANCE 24’s Nadia Massih describes a mixture of relief among those who have spent two months cooped in small apartments, and real concern that the lockdown is being lifted too soon. While businesses fear the impact of no American and Chinese tourists for the foreseeable future.

In Odaiba I saw part of the mixed relays. "2- Minoru."In this situation, the medical system is on the verge of collapse, the covid is not over yet. I think that if that money is spent for the Olympics, it should be used for the welfare of the people, that is, if you spend this money (indirectly) it is causing the death of people. "3.- Atsushi Futatami"My University is near here, when I saw an event near an area that I knew, I decided to approach it today, although I could not come at the inauguration, and since it has been a wonderful Games. Now I can't get close to the stadium ... The fan areas have been canceled to view them and thus there is less opportunity to enjoy them, even if the Games are held here. And I think the next ones will not be happening in a long time.Mikio WatanukiI think this is how they should be celebrated. Because after postponing the Games for a year and the effort that the athletes have made controlling their condition and now I imagine that doing them without an audience ... If I were an athlete, I imagine that I could not give 100% in my performance without an audience there.Shimicchi“Vaccination is starting now (in Japan) and they should control the public more. If they do not reduce the number of spectators, when the Games are over, the same thing that happened with the Go To campaign last year, in September, which spread infections throughout Japan could repeat itself.
