Indonesia ramps up COVID-19 testing capacity as cases rise

Jakarta, May 13 (EFE/EPA).- Residents of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, underwent COVID-19 swab tests on Wednesday as the government has been ramping up its coronavirus testing capacity. Indonesia on Wednesday confirmed 689 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 15,438.There were also 21 new coronavirus-related deaths, taking the total number of fatalities to 1,028.
