Need a lift? Eiffel Tower reopens after longest post-war closure

Description

Following its longest closure since the Second World War, the Eiffel Tower in Paris has reopened to visitors. Restrictions mean access is via stairs only, with 674 steps up to the second floor. The Iron Lady is expected to welcome around 12,500 visitors a day, about half as many as before, with foreign tourists largely keeping away.
