Tech firms to stop sharing user data with Hong Kong police

Description

Tech giants Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have all said that they will stop processing police requests for user data in Hong Kong. The firms want clarity on how the data will be used in the wake of Hong Kong's controversial new national security law, which makes any forms of pro-democracy protest illegal. Meanwhile, TikTok - which is owned by a Chinese company - announced it would be leaving the territory altogether.
