President-elect Joe Biden on Monday said that his transition team is facing ongoing roadblocks. The roadblocks come from President Trump's political leadership at the Pentagon. Several of the blocks also come from the Office of Management and Budget, says Business Insider. "Right now, we just aren't getting all the information we need from the outgoing administration in key national security areas." Biden over the past week has repeatedly expressed concern about the lack of access he's received. The shutout follows alongside the SolarWinds hack and amid tensions with Iran.
(CNN)President-elect Joe Biden is expected to deliver remarks on Monday afternoon after receiving a briefing from members of his national security and foreign policy agency review teams. Biden has vowed to take a markedly different approach to governing than President Donald Trump, particularly when it comes to foreign policy. He has vowed to undo Trump's "America First" isolationist foreign policy and restore the United States' reputation on the world stage. Biden has pledged to rebuild international alliances and has said that global challenges, including the coronavirus pandemic and the climate crisis, require partnerships and international coordination.
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham has been a staunch ally of President Donald Trump over the years. He's also inserted himself into the Georgia state election process, in an effort to investigate possible voter fraud. Nevertheless, Graham said on Wednesday said that President-elect Joe Biden should begin receiving intelligence briefings. To date, Biden has not received any briefings, as Trump refuses to concede and the GSA has refused to issue the necessary letter of ascertainment. Business Insider reports Graham has backed Trump's legal efforts, despite there being no evidence of widespread voter fraud.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence says Biden will not receive high-level intelligence briefings until the situation is resolved. The Trump-appointed head of the General Services Administration has declined to formally recognize Biden as the apparent or likely winner of the election. The GSA is a massive agency that keeps the federal government running and is central to facilitating the transition process from one administration to another. It's Emily Murphy's role under federal law to issue a letter of 'ascertainment' on the election results, which officially triggers the onset of the transition. According to Business Insider, the Trump campaign's many legal challenges to the election results are unlikely to go anywhere.

The late senator was widely praised for his moving concession speech delivered on Nov. 5, 2008, just a day after Obama's projected election win. Nor will they welcome the Bidens on the steps of the North Portico, much less ride with them to the United States Capitol. After all, the outgoing President and his family have refused to attend President-elect Biden's inauguration ceremony entirely.
