The CUPRA brand, created from SEAT's award-winning motorsport division, is the ultimate expression of uniqueness, sophistication and performance, born from passion and designed to captivate car enthusiasts around the world, creating vehicles that aren't founded in nostalgia but rooted in the present.Some of the most experienced, engaged and obsessed staff within the motorsport division decided to create a new dimension of the company - an alternative outlet for its competences and capabilities as an organisation.CUPRA will create an even livelier range of products focusing on SEAT models. They will leverage the Volkswagen Group's powerful technological toolkit and access the huge array of possibilities it gives them, but they will also be open to cooperating with people and companies which talk the same language and share the same understanding of how to create experiences: merchandising, accessories, events and, of course, motorsport.As CUPRA diversifies its business and develops new models that offer the perfect mix of performance, driveability and usability, the brand will leverage the existing infrastructure that SEAT benefits from, with dedicated floor space in 277 specially selected dealerships across Europe.The start of this journey began last February with the introduction of the new Brand and its first model, the CUPRA Ateca, a high-performance SUV that marks the beginning of a new era, and the perfect car to launch the CUPRA brand into the market.
SEAT is driving forward with its plans to electrify its vehicles and add even greater levels of efficiency. The process has already started, and now the brand is adding a second plug-in hybrid model to the range with the introduction of its first electrified SUV, the SEAT Tarraco e-HYBRID.The SEAT Tarraco is already an attractive proposition in the segment, and the introduction of a plug-in hybrid powertrain option will help the large SUV build on its position in the market. It brings a more balanced approach between dynamism and efficiency.
SEAT is refreshing its successful Ateca with the introduction of the 2020 version. The revamped vehicle will build on its SUV attributes, adding a refreshed and more emotional appearance both inside and outside, a fully connected user experience, improved levels of safety, comfort and efficiency.The SEAT Ateca is designed and developed in Barcelona, and produced in Kvasiny (Czech Republic), refreshing the line-up of SUVs, alongside the compact Arona and larger Tarraco, in a segment that is growing every year in popularity as customers look for design and function in a single package.
The SEAT Tarraco FR uses a range of new and optimised powertrains, both petrol (TSI), diesel (TDI), producing the performance expected for a vehicle carrying the FR badge, but balancing the need to lower emissions.But as well as the traditional, the large SUV also brings plug-in hybrid technology to the segment, combing combustion and electrification to deliver a thrilling drive while maximising the use of electrification and aid SEAT’s shift to a more sustainable approach to mobility.Diesel remains core to the Tarraco, and the FR benefits from two 2.0-litre TDI units with 150PS (110kW) and 200PS (147kW) power outputs respectively.The line-up includes a 2.0l engine linked to either a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed automatic DSG transmission with a power output of 150PS (110kW).
The all-new SEAT Leon is the latest vehicle to be designed and developed at SEAT's facilities in Martorell, with production also taking place on the site. The Leon has been one of the core pillars in the brand's product range accumulating more than 2.2 million sales since its introduction in 1999. The fourth-generation SEAT Leon is designed to take the vehicle to a new level offering even greater levels of dynamism, efficiency, safety and appeal.The market for compact vehicles is becoming increasingly competitive as global trends change the way vehicles are perceived and external pressures increase, but SEAT is meeting these aspects head on with the all-new Leon.The vehicle brings a strong design evolution, with an exterior and interior language that gives stronger character to the vehicle, helped in no small part by its revised dimensions, overall proportions, its more determined face and a fresh appraoch to lighting technology - both inside and outside.And as we enter an even more connected world, the next-generation SEAT Leon gives the consumer greater opportunity to take their digital lives with them into the vehicle, and also when they're out of the car. The all-new SEAT Leon is the brand's first fully connected vehicle, offering connectivity with Full Link - Android Auto and also wireless access to Apple's CarPlay - and, online infotainment and will offer in-car apps in the near future that expand and improve the customer's driving experience. Once out of the vehicle, users can access their vehicle's data remotely and also manage the charging process and control the air conditioning remotely (in the case of the plug-in hybrid version).
