Decision Desk HQ has called Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 presidential election, and says Biden is preparing to be the country's 46th president. Until October, US President Donald Trump had still refused to commit to transferring power peacefully, should Joe Biden be named president-elect. Eventually, though, Trump backed down, saying he didn't want a transfer because he wanted to win. Now, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is seeking to soothe those who fear Trump may change his mind again. Business Insider reports McConnell assured a peaceful transfer of power between the Trump and Biden administrations. We've had a peaceful transfer of power going back to 1792. On the morning of January 20, 2021, Donald Trump and Melania Trump will depart the White House as President and first lady. According to tradition and proper White House etiquette, the outgoing First Couple observes a number of protocols in the peaceful transition of power. But the Trumps have no intention of doing so. Rather than offering the hand of friendship, they will be raising their well-manicured middle fingers. CNN reports the Trumps have refused to invite the Bidens inside the White House before departing. Nor will they welcome the Bidens on the steps of the North Portico, much less ride with them to the United States Capitol. After all, the outgoing President and his family have refused to attend President-elect Biden's inauguration ceremony entirely.
President Donald Trump's campaign is still seeking donations from voters, even though Trump himself has all but admitted he lost to Joe Biden. But donors should know that 75% of every contribution is now being routed to Trump's newly-established leadership PAC, Save America, up to $5000. Anything over $5000 goes to Trump's Recount Account. Also, 25% of all donations go to the Republican National Committee. These funds could be used to finance Trump's life--or his legal bills--or his family's legal bills-- after he leaves office. It could even go toward a possible 2024 presidential bid. And according to Business Insider, all of these would be legal. Despite the Trump administration's decision to begin the transfer of power, Trump's personal plans for life after January 20, 2021, remain unclear.

Although a lifelong Republican like her husband, Cindy McCain endorsed President-elect Biden. Business Insider reports McCain says she hopes Trump concedes gracefully, as did her late husband conceded to then-president-elect Barack Obama in 2008. The late senator was widely praised for his moving concession speech delivered on Nov. 5, 2008, just a day after Obama's projected election win. Whether they left because they resigned or were fired, the list of former Trump officials who say they'll be voting for Democratic opponent Joe Biden is growing. According to Business Insider, some have joined anti-Trump political coalitions such as The Lincoln Project, Republican Voters Against Trump, and others. Hoping to sway the votes of independent, undecided, and moderate Republicans, they've spent millions on campaign ads to oust Trump from the White House. Former DHS chief of staff Miles Taylor called working under Trump 'terrifying," saying many things Trump wanted the department to do were illegal. Former White House communications director, Anthony Scaramucci, says he'll be voting for Biden. And former national security adviser John Bolton won't be voting for Trump or Biden. Instead, he'll write in the name of a conservative candidate.
