  • Thousands take part in anti-France rally in Pakistan

    Around 10,000 people marched through Karachi, Pakistan's biggest city, after Friday prayers in what was organised as a procession to mark the Prophet's birthday, but which was charged with anti-France anger. French President Emmanuel Macron has vowed to take the fight to religious radicals after the October 16 beheading of a history teacher by an extremist for having shown pupils cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed during a lesson on free speech.

    Tens of thousands of protesters march through Dhaka calling for a boycott of French products while burning an effigy of President Emmanuel Macron after he defended cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed. The French president has been the target of protests in several countries over his comments, made after a teacher in a Paris suburb was decapitated for showing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed to his pupils.
