Colombo, Jun 2 (EFE/EPA).- A cargo ship with chemicals on board that has been on fire for the last nearly two weeks off the Sri Lankan coast sank Wednesday, officials said, sparking fears over a catastrophic oil spill and extensive marine pollution."The ship has already sunk. Only the forward part is floating. That will sink too. Our main concern is an oil spill. Colombo, Mar 10 (EFE/EPA).- Dozens of people gathered outside Myanmar's embassy in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, Wednesday to reject the violence and repression of protesters by the military junta. Myanmar and Sri Lanka mostly enjoy close relations where Buddhism is concerned. In a coup d'état on the morning of 01 February 2021, the democratically elected members of Myanmar's ruling party, the National League for Democracy, were deposed by Myanmar's military, and the country is currently ruled by its military junta.
