Atlanta, May 19 (EFE/EPA).- Springreens co-owner Muhammad Jihad on Tuesday prepared food en masse for charity - philanthropic actions form an important part of the Muslim religious observanc - to allow Muslims to break the daily fast that is customary during the holy month of Ramadan with delicious dishes.The halal restaurant located next door to Atlanta’s oldest mosque Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam, has served more than 5,000 free Iftar meals to Muslims and others during Ramadan’s convergence with the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The first meal that breaks the fast during Ramadan is called IftarRamadan commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad and its observance is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.After Suhoor, the first meal of the day ahead of dawn prayer, Ramadan sees Muslims all over the world abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, sexual activity and negative behavior until dusk, when the fast is broken as friends and families come together for Iftar.
