Costa Rica lives a historic day with the first equal marriages

Description

San José, Costa Rica May 26 (EFE) .- Costa Rica lives a historic day on Tuesday in the fight for human rights by becoming the first Central American country to legalize civil marriage between people of the same sex.(CAMERA: Douglas Marín) STATEMENTS FROM MARCO CASTILLO AND RODRIGO CAMPOS, AFTER GETTING MARRIED IN A FAMILY COURT:"Today this access to the right is putting Costa Rica on the right side of history on the side with countries that are open to change. That change is different because it brings fear and uncertainty but in a democracy like ours we are sure that we will obtain rights like this for other communities as well."
