Hong Kong police make arrests at vigil for 1989 Tiananmen Square clampdown victims

Description

Thousands have gathered in vigils all across Hong Kong to mark the 31st anniversary of the repression of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, even though the gathering was declared illegal by local authorities. If they were mostly peaceful, an explosive device has been discovered next to the Beijing liaison office, the Hong Kong police announced, adding that protesters were also arrested, as FRANCE 24’s Hong Kong correspondent Oliver Farry reports.
