Easyjet to cut 30% of workforce as travel slump continues

Description

The low-cost airline Easyjet is to cut around 4,000 jobs - 30 percent of its total workforce - in response to the plunge in air travel during the Covid-19 pandemic. The company grounded its fleet in March, and plans to begin flying again from June 15, but with significantly fewer passengers. Also today, US President Donald Trump is preparing to sign an executive order targeting social media companies, after Twitter flagged one of his tweets as in need of fact-checking.
