The MC20 super sports car, now also a spyder: Maserati presents MC20 Cielo, a one-of-a-kind car that can deliver the performance of a true super sports car, together with a holistic and immersive driving pleasure the like of which has never been seen before.MC20 Cielo announces its special features in its very name: MC stands for Maserati Corse (‘Racing’); 20 refers to 2020, the year that began the brand’s new era; Cielo (‘sky’) highlights the fact that it is a model devoted to driving pleasure in the great outdoors, while maintaining all the prerogatives of the coupé.Equipped with the revolutionary V6 Nettuno engine, the Cielo offers a perfect mix of sportiness and luxury, courtesy of a specification unique to the segment: the innovative retractable glass roof. In actual fact, the new spyder acts a meeting point between Maserati audacity and the infinite sky, featuring a special “sky feeling”.The model is equipped with a state-of-the-art electrochromic (smart glass) window that can instantly be transformed from clear to opaque at the touch of a button on the central screen, courtesy of Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) technology. MC20 was presented to the world in Modena on 9 September during the “MMXX: Time to be audacious” event.The new MC20 (MC for Maserati Corse and 20 for 2020, the year of its world première and the start of the Brand’s new Era) is the Maserati everyone was waiting for. It is a car with incredible aerodynamic efficiency, which conceals a sporty soul, with the new Nettuno engine, a 630 horsepower V6 with torque of 730 Nm that delivers 0-100 km/h acceleration in under 2,9 seconds and a top speed over 325 km an hour. An engine that signals Maserati’s return to producing its own power units after a hiatus of more than 20 years.The MC20 is an extremely lightweight car under 1,500 kg (kerb weight), and thanks to its power output of 630 hp it comes out best in class in weight/power ratio, at just 2.33 kg/hp. This record is achieved through the use of choice quality materials, exploiting all the potentials of carbon fibre without any sacrifices with regard to comfort.Nettuno, the first engine in this new chapter of the Trident's history, is the MC20's twin turbo V6, a technologic gem already awarded an international patent, which puts the MTC (Maserati Twin Combustion) technology, the ground-breaking combustion system developed in-house, onto the world's roads.

After the GranTurismo Folgore, the brand's first fully electrified icon, and the Grecale Folgore, the first 100% electric SUV in the Trident’s history, the new open-top Maserati completes the Modena-based company's current full-electric offering.With its new ‘creature’, the offspring of the most overwhelming force of innovation, Maserati is once again a pioneer and forerunner in the automotive world, where electrification now sets the boundaries and rules, interpreted and set out by the Italian luxury brand with its timeless creations that can reconcile the brand’s powerful DNA according to new, contemporary stylistic, technological and engineering inspirations.The show continued with speeches from Klaus Busse and Davide Grasso. The Maserati Head of Design led the audience on a voyage of discovery of the beauty and spirit of the GranCabrio Folgore, which for its debut sported the exclusive Liquid Rose Gold colour, Titan Grey soft top and sophisticated Denim and Ice interiors, with contrasting stitching – a jewel of the Maserati Fuoriserie customisation programme. He told the story of the car's distinctive features, from its captivating design and amazing performance to the unmistakable signature of the Folgore sound and the incredible tech specs derived from Formula E cars, shared with Maserati for mass production.Alongside a group of representatives from the Maserati Family, Maserati's Chief Executive Officer then took the reins of the show for the final farewell, thanking the guests for coming and bearing witness to Maserati's new electric future. Recalling how the thunderous, harmonious encounter and clash between art and science has for centuries generated and inspired the search for excellence inherent in the Italian DNA, and how the same impetus has always featured in Maserati's work and spirit, Davide Grasso noted that there could be no Maserati without Italy, even in the new electric chapter of the brand’s history, as he officially welcomed in the new era.Folgore is the voice of Maserati's future, a thunder that infuses new energy and ignites the future of the brand.
One of the brand’s icons is back: Maserati presents the new GranTurismo, marking a new chapter in a story that began 75 years ago with the Maserati A6 1500.The GranTurismo coupé combines the high performance typical of a sports car with comfort suitable for long distances, in both the version with a powerful internal combustion engine and with the most innovative 100% electric solutions. It represents a benchmark, embodying the concept of “The Others Just Travel”. This model is taking the House of the Trident forward into the future: it is the first car in the brand’s history to adopt a 100% electric powertrain.From an aesthetic point of view, the GranTurismo design represents an ideal balance between beauty and functionality, without ostentation. With undeniably unique and immediately recognisable lines: a pure shape suitable to cover best-in-class mechanics, emphasising the purity of its forms and its refined design cues.The classic proportions of the brand's cars have been maintained, with the long bonnet and the central body intersected by the four fenders. Conversely, the roof line drops dynamically to emphasise the curve of the pillar that features the iconic Trident logo.Developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab and produced at the Mirafiori manufacturing hub in Turin, the GranTurismo is 100% made in Italy and epitomises “Italian luxury performance”, a concept typical of all Maserati models.The new coupé is equipped with the revolutionary V6 Nettuno engine, available in two versions: the Modena, with the 490-hp 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno Twin Turbo; the high-performance Trofeo version is based on the same engine, upgraded to a maximum power of 550 hp.Alternatively, the GranTurismo Folgore adopts a 100% electric battery-based powertrain. The Folgore system is based on 800-volt technology and has been developed with cutting-edge technical solutions derived from Formula E. It offers superb performance, made possible by the three powerful 300-kW permanent magnet motors.
The new Maserati Grecale SUV is “The Everyday Exceptional”.Grecale strikes the right balance between versatility, elegance, performance and innovation, guaranteeing performance, comfort and safety, all at the same time. These features are combined with off-road capabilities and uncompromising driving pleasure.Developed at the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena, the new SUV is produced at the Cassino plant.Grecale is a range within the range, the Trident brand’s fullest ever.An extremely wide range of engines is available: conventional internal combustion, hybrid and, in a year’s time, Grecale will also be the first full-electric SUV in Maserati history.Three versions will be rolled out at launch: GT, powered by a four-cylinder mild hybrid engine capable of delivering 300 hp; Modena, with a four-cylinder 330-hp mild hybrid engine; and the powerful Trofeo, equipped with a high-performance 3.0L 530-hp petrol V6 based on the Nettuno engine fitted to the MC20.
