Higher efficiency and lower emissions: Volkswagen has enhanced its bestselling 1.5 TSI petrol engine and is now introducing the latest generation, the TSI evo2, in the first models in Europe. This engine makes it possible to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The compact, ultra-modern four-cylinder engine will initially be available with an output of 110 kW (150 PS), and further variants of the 1.5 TSI evo2 will follow. The T-Roc and T-Roc Cabriolet will be the first models to be delivered with the new engine. The TSI evo2 will also be introduced successively in other models by the end of the year
World premiere for the new T-Roc: With a fresh design, innovative assist systems and numerous digital services, Volkswagen is continuing the success story of its compact crossover model. A sharpened exterior defines the unmistakable appearance of the new T-Roc, T-Roc R and T-Roc Cabriolet. The interior was refined with high-quality materials, a redesigned Infotainment display and the Digital Cockpit as standard. Innovative technology from higher vehicle classes has now been integrated into the compact SUV model family – in the shape of IQ.Light, with LED matrix headlights, and the assist systems of IQ.Drive with Travel Assist, as well as predictive ACC cruise control. In this way, Volkswagen is making great strides towards becoming a software-oriented mobility provider as part of its ACCELERATE strategy.
"Accept no roof" - the new VW T-Roc Cabriolet makes a promise. It is the promise of unlimited freedom, a breath of fresh air in the SUV segment and highly emotional driving pleasure. As the first crossover convertible in the compact class, it unites the robustness and strengths of an SUV with the joyful driving experience of an open-top car.The Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet instantly reveals what it stands for - driving fun, freedom and vitality. The strikingly wide front end, prominent lines and tight proportions give the model a distinctive mix of effortlessness and beefy SUV looks. The team under Volkswagen Head of Design Klaus Bischoff created lines that clearly underline the unique position of the T-Roc Cabriolet within the SUV segmentThe 2+2-seater VW T-Roc Cabriolet is based on the Modular Transverse Toolkit (MQB). It measures 4.27 m in length and has a wheelbase of 2.63 m. The car is 1.81 m wide (not including exterior mirrors) and 1.52 m high. The height above the road in relation to the H-point is 599 mm for the driver and front passenger and even 616 mm for rear passengers. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 280 litres. The folding rear seat backrests and optional tow bar underscore the car's versatility.Following in the footsteps of the Beetle and Golf Cabriolet, the T-Roc Cabriolet has a classic light soft top consisting of three layers. It is opened and closed fully automatically by the electrohydraulic drive in nine and eleven seconds respectively - and this is also possible during travel at speeds of up to 30 km/h. When open, the soft top folds down in a Z format behind the rear seats, its solid front cross strut serving as a cover. When the roof is closed, retainer bars prevent it from ballooning at high speeds. There is always a pleasant sense of calm inside the car, not least due to effective seals in the doors and windows. Volkswagen is able to supply a windbreak on request.
The VW T-Roc Cabriolet stands out with its distinctive body style. The modern and emotive design makes it unmistakably clear what the T-Roc is all about: driving pleasure, freedom and a zest for life. The strikingly wide front end, prominent lines and tight proportions make the model a bold mix of top-down effortlessness and beefy SUV looks. All in all,the design makes a clear statement: the T-Roc Cabriolet brings individuality and a sense of freedom onto the road and is open to everything - from the everyday to the special adventure.
The new technological developments realised with the MQB evo improve the Tiguan in practically every area. New hybrid drives with an all-electric range of around 100 km make this SUV more efficient than ever before. In addition, AC charging will be faster in all eHybrid versions, and fast DC charging will also be possible as standard for the first time. A cleanly designed Digital Cockpit based on the MIB4, the fourth-generation modular infotainment matrix, offers the highest level of information and brings digital services and apps on board. The operating concept is designed to be consistently self-explanatory. In addition, new systems such as a pneumatic massage function for the front seats or the IQ.LIGHT HD matrix headlights – used for the first time in the Tiguan – are derived from the premium Touareg model. The new adaptive chassis control DCC Pro optimises comfort and dynamics. The latest Park Assist generation automates driving in and out of parking spaces.
