Notre-Dame Cathedral to be restored exactly as it was before April 2019 fire, spire included

Description

There had been talk of launching an international architecture competition to determine the design of the Notre Dame Cathedral’s new spire, after it came crashing down after April 2019’s devastating fire. French President Emmanuel Macron said he was in favour of a more contemporary replacement, but it seems that is not to be. The iconic gothic spire will be rebuilt as it was, according to French officials.
