Contagions from abroad continue to increase in China

Description

Beijing, Apr 13 (EFE/EPA).-The number of "imported" COVID-19 cases continues to rise in China, which recorded a new high not seen since March, the National Health Commission said Monday, while a border crossing with Russia has become a new cause for concern.Of the 108 new infections in the past 24 hours, 98 were found in people coming from abroad. This figure represents an increase compared to the 97 "imported" cases (out of 99 total cases) from Saturday, which in turn had more than doubled the 46 total new cases of coronavirus cases that the health authorities reported a week earlier in its daily report.(Camera: WU HONG)FOOTAGE SHOWS B-ROLL OF BEIJING AMID THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.

Beijing, Aug 9 (EFE/EPA).- China has imposed mass domestic travel restrictions, as well as international travel restrictions for its residents, allowing Chinese people to leave the country only under certain conditions, in order to curb the new outbreak of Covid-19.The coronavirus outbreak, caused mainly by the Delta variant and what has now become China's worst outbreak in more than a year, was first detected on 20 July among airport cleaning staff in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, and has already infected hundreds of people and spread to over two dozen cities including Wuhan, where the coronavirus first emerged, and the capital Beijing.
