Singapore lab tests masks for filtration efficiency

Singapore, Aug 18 (EFE/EPA).- Singapore carries out up to five different tests to check the effectiveness of surgical masks in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The masks will undergo five tests - namely Bacterial Filtration, Particulate Filtration Efficiency, Synthetic Blood Penetration, Differential Pressure and Flammability - in accordance with Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Accreditation Council to ensure that they are safe for use. The city-state so far reported more than 55,000 infections and 27 deaths from the disease.
