Porsche Macan Press Launch in Lisbon, Portugal

Description

The new Macan Turbo’s 2.9-litre engine, which is already used by Porsche in its Cayenne and Panamera models, is a latest-generation engine in what is known as the central turbo layout. Both exhaust turbochargers have been arranged inside the V of the cylinders. The cooled exhaust manifold has been integrated into the cylinder head for highly efficient combustion. The short exhaust paths between the combustion chambers and the turbochargers permit rapid build-up of power and a particularly spontaneous response. The engine delivers 29 kW (40 PS) more than the 3.6-litre, six-cylinder turbo in the predecessor model and a maximum torque of 550 Nm between 1,800 and 5,600 rpm. Power transmission is provided by the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox and Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive. NEDC con-sumption stands at 9.8 l/100 km.

  • Porsche Macan Turbo Digital press conference

The Porsche Macan, which debuted in both standard and S guise. Today, we get our first look at the new Turbo.Of course, both versions of the Macan were already turbocharged, but this is the Turbo. That means a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, borrowed from the Panamera and Cayenne, sits in place of the turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 found in the Macan S. Engine size might be down, but power is up from 348 to 434 horsepower. Torque, meanwhile, climbs to a robust 406 pound-feet from 354 lb-ft. The extra power means extra performance, with the Macan Turbo with the Sport Chrono Package hitting 60 in just 4.3 seconds and can carrying on to 167 mph. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission channels the power to a standard Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system. On the agility front, the usual options apply. An adjustable air suspension is available (it features "optimized rolling pistons and new shock absorber hydraulics"), as is Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and carbon-ceramic brakes. Unlike other Macans, the Turbo comes standard with Porsche's neat Surface Coated Brakes, which feature a tungsten-carbide coating that Porsche says reduces dust by 90 percent, increases responsiveness, and cuts down on wear.

  • The new Porsche 911 Press Launch Valencia

Reinventing a Porsche 911 must be one of the trickiest balancing acts in the automotive world, as the car must embrace progress and move with the times, but without straying too far from the iconic template as it risks alienating its numerous fans.Or, as August Achleitner, vice-president of the 911 and 718 product lines says: tradition must meet state-of-the-art.The latest 911, internally designated the —“992”, metaphorically juggles eight balls while walking a tightrope as it cruises into 2019 as still the benchmark car in its class. The Carrera coupe version — available at launch in rear-wheel drive S and all-wheel drive 4S models — is better than before at melding the divergent concepts of civilised commuter and pulse-racing sports car.It is that perfect everyman’s sports car with a wide set of talents, and those talents have been further extended at both ends of the comfort and sports scale. The eighth generation of this rear-engined icon that originally sprung from the loins of a VW Beetle is almost boring in its ability to be a cultured and smooth-riding car in the hurly-burly of traffic jams, where most driving time is spent. It cruises over unkempt tar with judder-free finesse, as smooth as chilled Amarula, and leaves the bone-shaking to its edgier GT-badged brothers.

  • The new Porsche Macan S Press film

Porsche has comprehensively upgraded the Macan in terms of design, comfort, connectivity and driving dynamics. The Porsche Macan therefore remains the sporty role model in its segment. In keeping with the Porsche design DNA, the compact SUV features a three-dimensional LED light panel on the rear of the vehicle. LED technology is also standard for the headlights in future. The most eye-catching new features in the interior are the 10.9-inch touchscreen of the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM), the newly arranged and designed air vents and the optional GT sports steering wheel familiar from the 911. The PCM provides access to new digital functions such as intelligent voice control and the standard online navigation. The range of comfort equipment is extended by Traffic Jam Assist, an ioniser and a heated windscreen, among other things. Two engines versions will be available at the market launch: The Macan comes to the starting line with an enhanced 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This unit produces 180 kW (245 hp) and delivers a maximum torque of 370 Nm. The Porsche Macan S is powered by a new V6 engine with 3.0-litre displacement and twin-scroll turbocharger in central turbo layout. The engine has a power output of 260 kW (354 hp) and a torque of 480 Nm. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and the PTM all-wheel drive are perfectly matched to the new engines. Both Macan models are equipped with a gasoline particulate filter and meet the requirements of the emission standard Euro 6d-Temp.

  • Porsche Panamera GTS Press launch Bahrein 2018

Porsche announced in Bahrain the forthcoming addition of two sporty models to its Panamera range. The new Porsche Panamera GTS and Porsche Panamera GTS Sport Turismo models add new breadth to the lineup for customers seeking a sportier driving experience positioned between the Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo variants. As compared to the previous Panamera GTS with a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8, the current engine offers an increase of 13 horsepower and an additional 73 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine, which sends power to all four wheels through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission via the standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system, allows both the Porsche Panamera GTS and Porsche Panamera GTS Sport Turismo models to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.9 seconds.
