Germany: Non-medical staff sew masks in hospital as coronavirus cases soar

Description

Non-medical staff at the German University Hospital of Essen now have to sew face masks instead of performing their usual tasks. Gardeners and administrative staff now work behind sewing machines. According to the German chain WDR, the masks could be used by hospital patients or the fire brigade in case of a shortage.
