Bangkok, Oct 15 (EFE), (Camera: Rungroj Yongrit / Diego Azubel).- Thousands of protesters Thursday occupied Bangkok’s city center, defying an emergency decree imposed earlier in the day banning political gatherings to curb recent large-scale demonstrations demanding political and monarchical reform.Peaceful demonstrators who had gathered despite the ban on crowds of more than four people initially struggled for control of the city’s Ratchaprasong Intersection, as Thai police linked arms to block access to the BTS Skytrain overpass and the street below.FOOTAGE OF THE PROTEST.
Bangkok, Oct 16 (efe-epa), (Camera: Narong Sangnak).- Thai riot police Friday used water cannons and teargas to disperse thousands of peaceful protesters who gathered in Bangkok’s city center to demand government and monarchical reforms, defying an emergency decree banning political gatherings of more than four people. Security officers used blue-dyed water against demonstrators who had gathered in the Pathumwan area in Thailand’s capital, holding umbrellas to protect themselves from the blasts as they were pushed back across the street.
