2020 Mazda MX-30 Exterior Design in Soul Red Crystal

Description

The new MX-30 introduces all-electric drive technology to the Mazda range. Called e-Skyactiv, the drive system's combination of electric motor and 35.5kWh lithium-ion battery equips the MX30 with a uniquely smooth, quiet and seamless all-electric driving experience and a range of 200km (WLTP combined), far exceeding the average daily drive of European customers. The MX-30's ' Human Modern' styling concept and Freestyle centre pillar-less doors break new ground for the beautiful, handcrafted forms of Kodo design. The interior features a floating centre console incorporating Mazda's first touch-screen air-conditioning control panel, and unique materials designed to minimize environmental impact - door trim using fibres made from recycled plastic bottles and cork harvested from the bark of trees without felling.Combined with the MX-30’s inherently smooth all-electric driving behaviour, the adoption of electric G-Vectoring Control Plus (e-GVC Plus) results in even greater refinement of the Mazda driving experience. The MX-30 features an enhanced suite of i-Activsense features. And despite adopting freestyle doors with no centre pillar, its bodyshell combines high strength - including a carefully designed structure to protect the high-voltage battery - with efficient energy absorption for excellent collision safety performance.

  • 2020 Mazda CX-5 in Soul Red Crystal Exterior Design

Mazda is making only minor changes to the CX-5 for 2020. The company's i-Activsense suite of driver-assistance features is now standard across the lineup and includes automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlamps, and more. All models receive a new key fob we expect to match that of the new Mazda 3 sedan and hatchback, as well as Mazda's newly updated fonts on interior switches and exterior badging. Grand Touring Reserve and Signature models receive a new 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen display. The CX-5's standard 187-hp four-cylinder engine has great throttle response when pulling away from stoplights or hustling around town, so it feels quicker than it actually is. It's at higher speeds, such as when trying to pass or merge onto the freeway, that it feels underpowered. The 250-hp turbocharged version we tested provided much quicker acceleration, shooting from zero to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds. While the turbo engine also pairs with a snappy six-speed automatic transmission, it can only be had with all-wheel drive.

Featuring a renewed more sophisticated exterior design, new technology, improved refinement and an upgraded interior, the 2020 model year version of this popular supermini will be offered with a simplified five-model range, exclusively powered by Mazda's familiar 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine - which for the first time is matched to Mazda's M Hybrid mild-hybrid system.Visually, the upgraded Mazda2 is marked out by the adoption of the latest evolution of Mazda's Kodo design. The new grille features a mesh pattern, bringing it into line with the style seen on the all-new Mazda3 hatchback, while the wider signature wing and revised headlights heighten the Mazda2's sporty appearance. At the rear, the redesigned bumper gives the impression of a lower stance on the road.Inside, revisions to dashboard trims, air vent louvres, door inserts and the instrument hood are examples of how improvements to materials and design have enhanced the Mazda2's already upmarket interior. Highlighting Mazda's driver centred focus, the new front seats feature a more advanced design and structure that better supports the body and helps maintain a posture in which the pelvis is upright and the spine maintains a natural S-shaped curve. The comfort of all occupants has also been considered with a host of upgrades designed to improve refinement and interior quietness. New damping materials have been added in the cabin and a reduced gap around the base of the B-Pillar further upgrades sound insulation, as do revised sealing rubbers between the roof panel and the boot.
