ECOWAS bloc lifts post coup sanctions against Mali

In tonight’s edition :ECOWAS has lifted the sanctions that it had imposed on Mali after the military coup last August, this comes as several of the bloc's demands were met. As the rainy season begins to set in across the DR Congo, our team in the country has more on how authorities and residents are trying to prevent a repeat of last year's tragic flooding. And French lawmakers are examining a bill on whether to return stolen artifacts to Benin and Senegal.

    Nigeria's ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, mediating in the Mali crisis for the West Africa bloc ECOWAS, says the organisation would probably decide on Friday whether it would lift economic sanctions against the country.
