NYC Climate Lawsuit Against Oil Companies Dismissed

According to Reuters, "A U.S. judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit by New York City seeking to hold major oil companies liable for climate change caused by carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels." The city's claim was against Chevron Corp, BP Plc, Conoco Phillips, Exxon Mobil Corp, and Royal Dutch Shell Pls. Even though the lawsuit was dismissed, US District Judge John Keenan in Manhattan, believes the issue of Global Warming should be an issue confronted by the government. He stated, "Climate change is a fact of life... Global warming and solutions thereto must be addressed by the two other branches of government."
