Children age 12 years and younger infected with COVID-19 are proving to be super spreaders. They pass the virus to other members of their households more than half of the time, says UPI. This is according to data released Friday by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Teens aged 12 to 17 years infected others in their households nearly 40% of the time,. The findings are based on an analysis of the household contacts of 101 "index cases" of COVID-19. The study pulls from Tennessee and Wisconsin cases between April and September.
On 'Watch What Happens Live,' host Andy Cohen got Hoda Kotb to play 'Plead the Fifth' with her friend and former 'Today' co-host Kathie Lee Gifford. According to CNN, guests are asked three questions and can only 'Plead the Fifth' for one. Kotb pleaded the Fifth on answering what was the most annoyed she has ever been with Gifford before going on air. But she answered willingly when asked the identity of the worst guest she'd ever had on 'Today.' It's Frank Sinatra Jr. It was the worst guest we've ever had, bar none. New research suggests deaths in America have been seriously undercounted. According to Gizmodo, a new study estimates that between March and July, there were 225,000 more deaths in the US than expected. Of those fatalities, a little over half were officially attributed to the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 can damage the heart, which may partially account for the increase in deaths attributed to heart disease seen in some weeks. States with spikes in COVID-19 deaths also saw more excess deaths generally during those spikes, further implicating the virus as the cause. COVID-19 is also thought to have caused thousands of deaths indirectly, by people being too afraid to seek medical help for chronic conditions.
