Description

More than 600 refugees and migrants – among them unaccompanied children – are stranded in the Mediterranean after Italy closed it's ports. In total, 629 men, women and children are onboard the MV Aquarius. There are 123 unaccompanied children, aged between 13 and 17, as well as seven pregnant women on the ship run by SOS Medeterranee and Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF). Roughly 400 people were picked up on Saturday by the Italian Navy and coastguard, as well as merchant ships before they were transferred to the MV Aquarius for safety.
